Privacy Policy

AI Keyboard ("the App") is a custom keyboard extension for iOS that leverages Claude, an artificial intelligence service provided by Anthropic, PBC, to transform, rephrase, and translate text on your behalf. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") sets forth the principles and practices governing the collection, use, transmission, and protection of information in connection with your use of the App.

The App is designed with data minimization as a core principle. We collect only the information strictly necessary to deliver the text transformation service. Specifically, we collect the following category of data:

• User Content: Text that you actively submit for improvement, rephrasing, or translation through the keyboard extension. This content is collected solely at the moment you initiate a transformation request and is not retained by us following completion of that request.

We do not collect device identifiers, usage analytics, location data, or any other category of personal information beyond what is described above.

What Data Is Transmitted

When you initiate a text transformation request, the following data is transmitted to our AI service provider via their API:

• The specific text content you have selected for transformation
• Your transformation preferences, including tone, style, or target language as applicable

What Is Not Transmitted

We do not transmit device information, unique device identifiers, or any other personal identifiers to our AI service provider. Data sharing is strictly limited to what is necessary to fulfill your transformation request.

Who Receives Your Data

Your text content is received and processed solely by Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"), a U.S.-based AI safety company located at 548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, through their Claude API. Anthropic applies advanced large language models to generate the transformed output returned to you. You can review Anthropic's privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.

No data is transmitted to our AI service provider without your prior, affirmative action. Before any such transmission occurs, you must have:

• Granted "Full Access" keyboard permission to the App within iOS Settings
• Actively elected to use the keyboard extension to initiate a text transformation
• Accepted this Privacy Policy in its entirety

Data is transmitted exclusively in response to your deliberate use of the App's transformation features. No background data collection or passive transmission occurs at any time.

Anthropic, PBC maintains independent privacy and security practices that govern the handling of data received through the Claude API. The following protections are in place:

• API-transmitted data is not utilized to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve Anthropic's AI models
• All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest in accordance with industry-standard security protocols
• API data is retained by Anthropic for a strictly limited period for the purposes of abuse monitoring and is thereafter permanently deleted

We process your information exclusively for the following purposes:

• Authentication: Account information obtained through Apple or Google Sign-In is used solely to authenticate your identity and manage your account. It is not used for any secondary purpose.
• Text Transformation: User content is transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API exclusively when you actively invoke a transformation feature. We do not store, analyze, or retain your text content following the completion of processing.

We do not sell your data, share it with any third party beyond Anthropic, PBC, or use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the text transformation service.

The App requires the "Full Access" keyboard permission in iOS in order to function as a system-level keyboard extension. This permission is a technical prerequisite imposed by iOS that enables the App to transmit your text to Anthropic's Claude API for processing.

Application preferences and configuration settings are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms. These settings do not include any text content you submit for transformation.

We do not maintain any server-side storage of your text content. Once a transformation request has been processed and the result returned to you, no copy of your submitted text is retained by us or our AI service provider beyond the limited retention period described in Section 05.

The App is not directed at, designed for, or intended to be used by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and have reason to believe that your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us immediately at the address provided in Section 12. Upon verification, we will take prompt steps to delete any such information from our records.

You retain meaningful control over your data in connection with the App. The following rights and choices are available to you:

• Right to Withdraw Consent: You may cease all data transmission to Anthropic at any time by discontinuing use of the keyboard extension or by revoking "Full Access" permission in iOS Settings. This action takes immediate effect.
• Right of Access: As we do not retain your text content following processing, there is no historical text data held by us that is subject to access or deletion requests.

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our data practices, applicable legal requirements, or the functionality of the App. Revised versions of this Policy will be made available within the App and on this page, accompanied by an updated "Last Updated" date.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App following the posting of any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. Where changes are material in nature, we will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice through the App or via the App Store listing.
